What Our Clients Say
We booked a private session with Mark to introduce ourselves to the world of paddling. LOVED every moment. Our lesson took place in the picturesque setting of Peppermint Grove which provides not only a stunning backdrop it is also sheltered enough to practice safely while still getting a genuine paddling experience. Mark is outstanding!! Offering such a welcoming environment. Mark was able to meet us exactly where we are at as complete novices with little knowledge or experience. With his fun and friendly disposition, his supportive, encouraging approach, his expert instruction helped build my confidence on the water never making me feel inadequate. I would definitely recommend PaddleFit Perth. Let the paddling adventures begin…
We asked Mark from Paddle Fit Perth to run a session with our teachers earlier this year. Nothing was too much trouble for him and the team as he transported the surf skis to our meeting point at Matilda Bay, ran through the basics and had the group racing around the cans in no time. Mark’s ability to share his expert knowledge, gained from year’s of experience as a competitive paddler and ski coach at the City of Perth SLSC, is second to none. He was able to get the right people on the appropriate craft and tailor the session to engage the range of abilities in the group. Everyone was able to make progress with their paddling skills and enjoy a brilliant afternoon on the water. I have no hesitation in recommending Paddle Fit Perth to anyone wishing to get started or take their paddling to the next level.
I decided aged 62, that I wanted to try downwind paddling. With just a couple of years’ experience in a sea kayak and armed with “You Tube” instruction, I began bungling my way with lack of technique and snail like paddling speeds. Finally, I reached out to Mark at Paddle Fit Perth. In just a few short sessions my confidence, speed and technique have improved out of sight. To complete a downwind - Drummers Run, was once way out of my ability, but after just few sessions with Mark, I just might get my first one in this summer. The week day training sessions coupled with the Sand Tracks Triangles have opened a whole new world for me. I would highly recommend Paddle Fit Perth to anyone who needs a kick start or aspires to the next level. I cannot recommend Mark highly enough as a coach and mentor.
I recently started surf ski training with Mark and I can’t speak highly enough of him and the way he goes about the training. He has really opened up my eyes as to what is achievable and it’s a huge buzz to be out on the open water. Mark seems to know exactly what is challenging me as I train with him, and he always seems to have the right instruction and encouragement. He is very patient, has a great demeanour and inspires confidence. I have been paddling for some years before this and I am already gaining new skills, and it feels so rewarding to complete each session.
With a small group, Mark was able to spend a good amount of time with each of us over the 12km distance, he was able to quickly determine the limit of our abilities and knowledge from a prior discussion and seeing us on the ocean, and then either reinforced to me what I thought I should be doing and/or fine tune what I was doing and to guide me to improve my speed utilising the elements to push me along. Prior to the time on the water, we had a white board discussion which greatly helped me to visualise what waves tend to do and what we should look out for- awesome! Being relatively new to downwind paddling in that I had only completed 4 downwind races prior to Mark's program, I now have a greater understanding of what to do and am extremely grateful to have been able to attend Mark's program. I thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and recommend "Paddling fit Perth" to all paddlers.
Hi Mark Clem and I found this a really useful refresher to downwind paddling. As we hadn't done any in a long time we really benefitted from Mark's expertise, enthusiasm and paddling knowledge. There was plenty of feedback given to all participants along with ideas for improvement. The clinic was well organised and safety was a priority. We thoroughly enjoyed it and definitely felt we were paddling better by the end.
Last month I went surf ski paddling with Mark from Perth Paddle Fit, which included a downwinder from North Fremantle to City Beach. Marks patience and experience was invaluable as I attempted my first downwinder, which left me to smiling from ear to ear to entire weekend. I would highly recommend Perth paddle fit Cheers Rory
